स्वास्थ्य मीडिया फेलोशीप पर कार्यशाला

रांची : ०२.०८.2008 : हर नागरिक को स्वास्थ्य का अधिकार है तथा झारखंड में इस पर अभियान चलाना जरूरी है। यह बात आज सामाजिक कार्यकत्ताZ बलराम ने स्वास्थ्य पर मीडिया फेलोिशप पर आयोजित कार्यशाला में दी। उन्होंने कहा कि मीडिया को स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में राज्य में मौजूद कमियों को उजागर करने तथा सकारात्मक पहलुओं को भी सामने लाने की दिशा में ठोस प्रयास करने चाहिए। सिनी कार्यशाला में आयोजित कार्यशाला में मीडिया फेलोिशप के संयोजक विष्णु राजगढ़िया ने राज्य के ग्रामीण इलाकों में स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं तथा स्थितियों के बारे में शोध एवं रिपोर्टिंग के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर प्रकाश डाला। इनजेंडर हेल्थ से जुड़ीं डॉ क्रिस्टी ने स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में आजादी पूर्व काल से अब तक सरकारी प्रयासों की जानकारी देते हुए बेहतर स्वास्थ्य की दिशा में नागरिकों की सहभागिता के उदाहरण प्रस्तुत किये। सामाजिक कार्यकत्ताZ गुरजीत, हलधर, अभिजीत एवं भाष्कर ने राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य मिशन एवं समुदाय आèाारित निगरानी की अवèाारणा एवं प्रक्रिया की जानकारी दी। यह मीडिया फेलोिशप भारत सरकार के स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य मिशन के अंतर्गत समुदाय द्वारा निगरानी कार्यक्रम का एक अंग है। झारखंड में इसका क्रियान्वयन सिनी (चाइल्ड इन नीड इंस्टीट्यूट) नामक संस्था कर रही हैंइसमें एनबीजेके, आइडीएफ तथा एकजुट नामक संस्थाएं जिला स्तर पर जननिगरानी का संचालन कर रही है । कार्यशाला में यह बात सामने आयी कि सरकार की स्वास्थ्य योजनाओं के संबंèा में जानकारी के अभाव के कारण व्यापक जनसमुदाय को इसका लाभ नहीं मिल पाताण् इसलिए मीडिया को इस दिशा में आगे आना चाहियेंइस दौरान राज्य में स्वास्थ्य का अिèाकार पर अभियान चलाने, राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य मिशन के संबंèा में जागरूकता पैदा करने, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों की स्वास्थ्य स्थितियों को सामने लाने तथा इस संबंèा में जनसमुदाय के दृिष्टकोण को सामने लाने संबंèाी रिपोर्टिंग एवं लेखन पर जोर दिय गयां। मीडिया फेलोिशप के लिए चयनित आठ पत्रकार अविनाश कुमार, युगेश्वर राम, प्रमोद कुमार, ऋषिकेश सिंहदेव, सलाउद्दीन, भिखारी साव, अपराजिता मिश्र एवं नीलमणि कुमार ने भी कार्यशाला में अपने विचार प्रकट किये।

Associated with mainstream media from Ranchi, Hazaribag, Palamu and Chaibasa districts
Has prepared health / developmental reports
Keen on Rights issue.

Rules and Procedure of the fellowship
The fellows will be selected by the selection committee
We will invite the entries through news /press release
Interested candidates can send their entries up to 10 July, 3.00 pm
Selected fellows will be invited in the state level workshop. They will be provided a sum of Rs. 5000 each along with a MOU and will have an orientation to the fellowship
The fellows will have to visit in rural area, particularly among in some of the villages under CBM project.
They have to gather primary data on the health related issues, status of health services and participation of community in CBM
Each fellow has to write minimum 20 news items/articles under the guideline of this scheme and they should try to get them printed in any one or more newspaper or magazine.
If some of the reports/articles will not been published, the fellow should submit it to the coordinator of the fellowship
The fellowship will be granted on 14 of July 2008 and it will be completed on 30th of August 2008. The second and final installment of the fellowship will be provided after successful completion of the fellowship.
They fellows shall maintain a live interaction with the CBM team of their area and with the coordinator.
The fellows will be provided certificate after successful completion of the fellowship.
CINI will have right to terminate fellowship of any fellow if one goes beyond the guidelines of the fellowship.

Invitation for Media Fellowship

Media Fellowship on Right to Health
Ranchi: Eight Journalists in Jharkhand will be provided Media Fellowship on the topic Right to Health. Two candidates will be selected from each of the three districts viz. Hazaribag, Palamu, West Singhbhum and two from Ranchi for State edition. Interested candidates can send their entries to Vishnu Rajgadia, Convener of the fellowship at CINI- Jharkhand Office in Panchwati, 357-A, Ashoknagar, Road No. 5, Ranchi- 2, Jharkhand by the 10th of July 2003.
The fellows will be selected by a selection committee. Selected fellows will be granted the fellowship during a State Level Workshop on Right to Health which will be held on 14th of July 2008. The fellowship will be granted by Community Based Monitoring of Health Programs under NRHM for which Child In Need Institute (CINI) is the State Nodal Agency.
The Govt. of India has launched the NRHM (National Rural Health Mission) on 12th of April 2005. It has also initiated Community Based Monitoring (CBM) program to involve the community in the process of planning and monitoring of various health services under the NRHM. In the first phase, nine states have been selected for a Pilot initiative which includes Jharkhand. 135 villages spread in 9 Blocks of three districts have been chosen by a State Mentoring Group for guiding the initiative in the State. The districts are Hazaribagh, Palamu and West Singhbhum. (In each of these districts, 3 blocks has been selected with 15 villages each. Consequently, a total of 135 villages are to be covered under the CBM initiative. Child in Need Institute (CINI) is the nodal agency in Jharkhand to facilitate the same in the State level). NGOs such as NBJK, IDF and Ekjut have been selected to facilitate the same at the District level.
The scheme to provide fellowship to eight media persons in the state is an effort to ensure greater participation of media in Community Based Monitoring of the health services under NRHM and to create awareness on people’s right to health.
